From our collection of artful skateboards, this one makes me smile the most.
Jazmin Liu and OSF student Louren collaborated to create this Art Auction piece for a Roarockit-sponsored fund-raising event for the Oasis Skateboard Factory in Toronto.
First they laminated a custom skateboard, then chopped it into 5 pieces, finished the edges and reassembled it to make a school desk.
Above is the description panel to explain the thinking that went into the concept piece and contributed to the student’s English mark.
Almost all of the desk top articles were carved or fabricated out of wood, same as the 100% Canadian Maple that premium skateboards (including this one) are made from.
The intricate little trees are made from twisted paper, and the tiny figures were 3-D printed.
