Hey there! Guess what? We’ve finally cracked the code on our sticky sealing tape after almost 25 years of struggling with it!
Our sealing tape is designed to stick like crazy. It creates a super airtight seal that holds a tight vacuum. But as we all know, it’s a real pain to open again! It sticks to both sides of the bag, gets messy, and is just plain annoying.
So, what’s the solution? A SIMPLE SMEAR OF DISH SOAP!
Here’s how to “prime” your sealing tape:
1. Squirt 1/2 teaspoon or so of dish soap onto a plate or piece of cardboard.
2. Open your Thin Air Press bag and remove the brown paper tape from the sealing strip.
3. Dip your finger into the soap and apply a thin smear of soap along just the black sealing tape.
4. Wait about 10-15 seconds for the soap to dry.
5. Now, you can either use the bag right away or re-apply the paper strip to be ready for your next pressing.
When you open the bag after a pressing, you’ll find it opens easily. It will make your tape last much longer, and also seal better. This only needs to be done once, it should last for many pressings.
We can’t believe it took Ted this long to figure out this solution. He apologizes profusely for not figuring it out until now!
Happy pressing!
